Description

Hiro Knives are made from rustproof carbon steel featuring the exotic, precious metal called Molybdenum, and hardened to 58 Rockwell. This costly material allows for optimal high performance.

Whereas the angle of the edge of most European knives are 76 degrees, the edge angle of Hiro knives is 45.5 degrees, resulting in an extremely sharp edge.

How Hiro Knives are crafted:
1. Beautiful carbon steel featuring exotic Molybdenum is stretched by a roller and shaped into blank slabs.

2. Blades are preheated to 700 degrees Celsius.

3. A hardening process consisting of repetitive heating and cooling takes place, using a furnace at a temperature of 1,040 degrees Celsius.

4. Blades are air-cooled after hardening.

5. Blades are tempered in oil at a head of 180 degrees Celsisus for prevention against strains .

6. Blades are cleaned and polished.

7. Blades are ground, riveted and fitted with handles.

8. Handles are polished and finished to perfection.

9. Blade edges are sharpened and finished to an extremely sharp 45.5 degree angle.

10. A series of exhaustive inspections takes place to make sure every detail is perfect.

11. Finished Hiro knives are packed in beautiful ornamental boxes.

How to Care for your Hiro Knife:

1. Rinse with soap-water before running boiling water over the blade, then wipe away moisture with a dry cloth.

2. It is best to wash the knife shortly after usage.

3. Knife edge should occasionally be whetted on a sharpening stone or steel to maintain optimal sharpness.
